Puerto Galera is one of the top diving destinations in the Philippines. It offers beautiful sea creatures and different marine species that you will surely adore and love. On our 2nd day in Puerto Galera, our scheduled activities are Snorkeling and Island Hopping.
We woke up at 7:30 in the morning. We changed our clothes then we look for a restaurant so we can have a heavy breakfast.
Since it is Sunday, almost all restaurants are full packed. We waited for 45 minutes to an hour before our orders were served.
Our activity started at 9AM. We took a tricycle that leads us to Sabang Port. From Sabang, we paid 10 pesos each for the terminal fee. They said to keep the tickets so we don’t have to pay for the exit fee on our last day. We also bought breads that will serve as the bait to the beautiful fishes of Galera. We hopped to our boat [property of Ate Merlyn] then we docked off at our first island –Manila Channel.
From the Island, we transferred to a smaller boat so we can do our first 3 activities: Enchanted Cave, Giant Clam and Snorkeling. They said bigger boats are not allowed to enter the other side of the island because it may damage other small sea creatures.
Our first stop is at Enchanted Cave.
Our boatman took my camera so we can enjoy ourselves more. He said he will take a picture of us while we are on the cave. Thanks kuya! Big help! 🙂
The cave based on the name itself, is really enchanting. Haha. Lol. It has clear cold water that is really refreshing. It is a small cave. Water level is from knee to waist. We finished our mini tour cave within 15 minutes including photo ops.
Next stop is at the Giant Clam. Our boatman said that we need to use our snorkeling gears for this activity. He instructed us to jump off the boat, look down and hold the rope while the boat is running. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see the giant clam because I am having troubles with my snorkeling gear.
The last activity is Snorkeling. I was awed by what I saw under the sea. Beautiful fishes with different colors as well as lovely corals that will surely amaze you too. This is by far, the most beautiful marine life I ever saw in my life. The Philippines is really blessed to have this kind of beauty.
The bread that we bought earlier served as our bait so the fishes will come near us.
I wish we can stay here the whole day but we still need to visit 2 more islands. So, we said our goodbyes to the fishes and went back to the Manila Channel Island where our big boat is staying.
The sun is starting to burn our skin but I didn’t mind. That’s the reason why we are in PG anyway so we just enjoyed the sun and its power – sun kissed skin!
We had our lunch on our second island – Maniknik Island. The menu is the same in White Beach, ALL GRILLED. We rest for a while and took some pictures before proceeding to the third and last Island.
The 3rd island.
This is where we stayed for quite a long time. I loved the beach because the water is clear and cold.
Also, the place is perfect for my “feeling-model-photos”. Hahaha. Thank you to my photographers, my ever dearest friends, Ehm and Ron for your cooperation. Hahaha.
We finished our activity around 4PM. (Please don’t forget to give a tip to your boatman).
We went back to White Beach to wait for the sunset.
Beautiful sunset at White Beach, Puerto Galera
After the stunning sunset, we proceeded to our Hotel, took a bath, rest and went back to White Beach to have our dinner.
And for the second time around, we witnessed the graceful fire dancers of PG.
Me!!!
Since it is our last night, we made sure not to miss the opportunity to try the ever famous Mindoro Sling.
We ordered 1 pitcher of Mindoro Sling at GUA: You Only Live Once for 150 pesos. We talked about our plans of getting married, having a family and our future goals in life.
Very long day indeed, but one of the days that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Long talks, away from the city and being with the best buddies – One of the best feeling ever.
That’s how we ended our Day 2 in Puerto Galera.
